Ways to Use Your Planner Even if You Have No Plans!

It’s no secret that many daily planner users are busy people. But that doesn’t mean that you have to be busy to use one! The best thing about planning is that there are absolutely no rules, no right or wrong way to use a planner; it’s totally up to its user. You don’t have to have a jam packed schedule, you don’t have to be a student, or work a full-time job. There are so many alternative ways to fill up your planner even when you’re not busy!

Keep track of your daily tasks

You can use your weekly spreads to list out your daily tasks such as walking your dog, feeding your pets, watering your plants, doing laundry, and the list goes on and on. You can also use this as a place to write down reminders to call the doctor, schedule your hair appointment, etc.

Log your workouts

Are you following a specific workout plan? Do you just want to keep track of your workout schedule? Your planner is the perfect place to do this! You can jot down what exercises you did each day, how many calories you burned, or even how you felt afterward!

Map out time for self- care

How many times have you told yourself that you would set aside time to focus on yourself? Mapping out time in your planner for self- care is an absolute game changer. When you have a chunk of time for self-care preplanned, the more likely you are to actually participate in it! Even if it’s reading for 10 minutes, or throwing on a face mask; write it out and set it in stone.

Write out your favorite quotes, daily affirmations, or something you’re grateful for

When we’re not super busy and want to fill our planners up, this is one of our favorite ways to beef it up! We love writing out our affirmations in the morning, it truly sets us up for a good day. And at the end of the day we like to write out one thing we felt grateful for that day. A little positivity goes a long way.

Use it as a way to document your year

If you’re anything like us, and love being able to reflect on your year at its close, this may be your new favorite way to make use of your planner. Something we have recently been getting into is jotting down what each day was like throughout the year. Whether it be what we did that day, who we saw, or where we went. Or maybe even how we felt each day; the highs and lows, the good and the bad. And when you do this at the end of the year you have yourself your very own year in review.

BONUS! Use products you love.

It definitely helps to use products you love. Just finding a planner that connects with you and a pen that makes writing easier can go a long way. Here are a couple we love: Bloom’s Jewel Tones Soft Cover Planner, $12.95 and Paper Mate’s Inkjoy Gel Pens, $16.99.

You see, you don’t necessarily have to be busy to pack your planner! And I’m sure there are about a million other ways you can use your planner, but these are some of our favorites. We’d love to hear how you all use your planners as well!
